Document the gap. Challenge the closure. Preserve what cannot be reconstructed.
JADC2 Assurance Blind-Spot Closure and Independent Challenge Lab
Test whether a fixed fictional closure plan creates independent, current, reviewable evidence—or merely adds records that share the original source, software, administrator, timing, semantic, monitoring, or governance defect.

Closure is an evidentiary claim
A documented blind spot is not a closed blind spot.
JADC2 means Joint All-Domain Command and Control. CJADC2 means Combined Joint All-Domain Command and Control. A closure plan must establish what evidence was missing, whether it can still be generated, whether the new source is independent, whether contrary evidence survives review, and when the closure expires.
The original gap remains visible. A later retest, generated explanation, restored monitor, or second product label does not silently recreate contemporaneous evidence or establish independent coverage.
Governing definitions
Keep documentation, closure, partial closure, independent challenge, and reconstructability separate.
Sixteen independent closure dimensions
Closure must address the evidence gap, independence, challenge, correction, recovery, review, and expiry chain.
JABC-DIM-01
Blind-spot identity and affected claim
Preserve a stable blind-spot record, affected claims, original evidence state, and reason the gap matters.
Closure requirement: Stable blind-spot record, affected claim IDs, original state, and bounded closure criterion.
Non-equivalence: Blind spot documented ≠ blind spot closed.
JABC-DIM-02
Expected evidence and why it was missing
State which record was expected, who should have produced it, when it should have existed, and why it is absent.
Closure requirement: Expected-evidence contract, collection window, custody status, and gap classification.
Non-equivalence: Missing expected evidence may reflect collection, retention, custody, or design failure.
JABC-DIM-03
Reconstructability of the missing record
Distinguish evidence that can still be created from a historical record that can only be declared unavailable.
Closure requirement: Reconstructability finding, independent preserved sources, and explicit impossible-to-reconstruct state.
Non-equivalence: Recreated record ≠ contemporaneous record.
JABC-DIM-04
Closure-source independence
Determine whether a proposed source is independent from the source, defect, data, and assumption that created the blind spot.
Closure requirement: Source lineage, failure-domain comparison, custody, and independent corroboration or contradiction.
Non-equivalence: More observations ≠ independent observations.

Closure requirement: Method description, physical or logical diversity, sampling limits, and failure-injection evidence.
Non-equivalence: Alternative sensor label ≠ alternative failure domain.
JABC-DIM-06
Software, model, and configuration lineage independence
Determine whether closure evidence shares code, model, configuration, builder, signing root, or update path.
Closure requirement: Artifact hashes, builder identity, signing roots, update channels, and lineage comparison.
Non-equivalence: Second implementation ≠ independent code lineage.
JABC-DIM-07
Identity, signing, builder, and administrator independence

Non-equivalence: Second monitor ≠ independent monitor.
JABC-DIM-11
Purpose, releasability, authority, and permitted-use coverage

Closure requirement: Purpose, releasability, authority, expiry, revocation, and permitted-use records.
Non-equivalence: Connection restored ≠ authority restored or state reconciled.
JABC-DIM-12
Human-interface and meaningful-review evidence

Closure requirement: Interface state, evidence access, time, competence, authority, alternatives, and intervention evidence.
Non-equivalence: Human click ≠ meaningful judgment.
JABC-DIM-13
Contradictory evidence and adversarial challenge
Require independent challenge, contrary evidence, unresolved defeaters, and an answer to material objections.
Closure requirement: Challenge questions, contrary evidence, defeater disposition, and independent merits response.
Non-equivalence: Challenge invited ≠ challenge answered.
JABC-DIM-14
Repeated-condition and out-of-envelope testing
Test closure repeatedly and outside the sampled envelope rather than relying on one favorable demonstration.
Closure requirement: Repeated-condition tests, out-of-envelope failures, coverage bounds, and retest triggers.
Non-equivalence: Passing closure check ≠ operating-envelope coverage.
JABC-DIM-15
Correction propagation, reconciliation, recovery, and return of control
Determine whether corrections and recovered state propagate through every derived product, claim, and control path.
Closure requirement: Propagation proof, divergent-state reconciliation, recovery tests, and accountable handback.
Non-equivalence: Corrected source ≠ corrected downstream products.
JABC-DIM-16
Independent closure review, expiry, and residual unknowns
Require independent merits review, current evidence, expiry conditions, re-verification triggers, and explicit unknowns.
Closure requirement: Independent review record, expiry, change triggers, residual unknowns, and bounded publication statement.
Non-equivalence: Closure evidence generated ≠ safety, readiness, certification, or authority.

Blind-spot closure analysis ready.
Public and operational boundary
This lab does not close a real-system blind spot.
It accepts no real architecture, blind-spot record, monitor configuration, evidence package, log, software artifact, model, SBOM, certificate, key, authority instrument, organization, person, mission, incident, target, weapon, coordinate, route, range, payload, signature, waveform, credential, private information, file, or arbitrary URL.
No real-system, legal, force, certification, accreditation, readiness, safety, compliance, or deployment determination was made. Real-system evidence closure, exact artifact identity, authority reconstruction, human-interface evidence, failure-origin analysis, and accountable remediation remain separately governed Evulgare responsibilities.
Direct answers
JADC2 blind-spot closure questions
What does it mean to close a JADC2 assurance blind spot?
It means generating independent, current, reviewable evidence that addresses the declared gap within stated bounds while preserving the original missing record, limitations, expiry, and residual unknowns.
Does documenting a blind spot close it?
No. Documentation establishes that the gap is known. Closure requires evidence, independence, challenge, review, correction propagation, and current conditions sufficient for the affected claim.
Can a later retest recreate evidence missing during the original event?
No. A retest can support future behavior under tested conditions, but it cannot recreate a contemporaneous record that was never generated or preserved by an independent source.
Why must a closure source be independent?
A second source or monitor may share the same code, data, identity service, administrator, infrastructure, time source, supplier, semantic translator, or control plane and therefore fail for the same reason.
What happens when independent evidence contradicts the closure plan?
The contradiction remains visible, dependent claims are suspended, and independent merits review and repeated-condition testing are required. It cannot be averaged away by favorable evidence elsewhere.
Does a complete closure graph certify JADC2 or CJADC2?
No. The graph is a fixed public teaching model. It does not establish real-system safety, readiness, legal sufficiency, authority, force authorization, certification, accreditation, or deployment approval.
